We work on reading music, identifying piano keys, etc. that allows you to still benefit if you don't have a piano yet. The class is also recorded and available for up to 7 days, so if you want to revisit it after getting your piano, you can. After the first class, a piano or keyboard will be needed.

This curriculum has been designed for beginners. The goal is to provide thorough, step-by-step instruction so that learning doesn't have to feel hard and you can focus on not only enjoying playing, but also efficient progress.

88-keys is the standard full-size piano. 76-keys is the recommended bare minimum you will want. If you run out of piano keys, the songs that you can play is limited. Brands like Yamaha and Kawai have a good combination of quality sound and construction. Electronic keyboards and clavinovas can also be a great option. Just make sure the keys are touch-sensitive and there is a port to plug a damper pedal in.

The intro class is a one-time session. After that, students may choose to enroll in the course to continue progressing through the curriculum.

The goal is for you to learn how to read music, rhythm, correct technique, learn how to play several songs, ear training, theory, sight-reading, music history and earn the certificate of completion for the course.

Students may submit one short video per week. You will receive targeted feedback focused on improving technique, timing, and overall performance, along with next steps for practice to reach your goals moving forward.

Yes! Students who complete the required participation milestones within the program can receive a certificate of completion.

You can join the ongoing course to continue advancing, audition for private one-on-one lessons with Kiarah (pending availability), or we can assist with finding you a qualified instructor.
